A Southern California native, Leslie Bitong trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical/contemporary, hip-hop, and modern at California Dance Theatre, Edge Performing Arts Center, and the University of Arizona School of Dance. Leslie has performed repertoire by Mia Michaels, Martha Graham, George Balanchine, and many more. She has assisted many world renowned choreographers such as Doug Caldwell and Emmy award winner, Charles Klapow. Leslie graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Dance from the distinguished University of Arizona School of Dance. This is where she began to develop a body of work, which has been highly acclaimed and showcased in the most selective and prestigious venues. Leslie was chosen as a finalist at the Capezio A.C.E. Awards, and has shown work at events such as the Arizona Jazz Dance Showcase, Carnival Choreographer’s Ball in Hollywood, Theaterhaus in Stuttgart Germany, and many more. She has toured through Europe and Asia, performing, teaching, and showcasing choreography. A passionate educator, Leslie has taught master classes and choreographed for schools, teams, and workshops worldwide. She most recently served as the head Jazz Dance Instructor of the Professional Dance Academy of Stuttgart, Germany. Leslie’s emotional and dynamic style fuses elements of many genres of dance, including hip-hop, modern, ballet, jazz, and contemporary. She creates story-driven choreography that displays intricate musicality and technique in a hybrid of commercial and concert dance. Leslie hopes to make her mark on the world of contemporary dance by bringing an honest, genuine, human-like quality into mainstream choreography.
